Jan.19th 2007

Today was a good non spending day. After the weeks worth of spending I'm glad that it is calming down. I think that alot of the spending lately has a lot to do with DD being home from college. She is very encouraging to let those bucko's fly right out of my wallet. she is a very helpful spender. When she is at school I don't spend nearly as much as when she is home. It is a little of this and a little of that and it adds up. Tomorrow we have to go and pick up her text books for the upcoming semester and that will be a small fortune. But it is an expected expense verses a non expected. That means I do have the money for it w/o having to go broke. While we are out that way picking up the books we will probably have a nice lunch out. I have a restaurant .com certificate so I will use that. Other than helping DD with getting her books it seems like it will be a prety laid back weekend.

Still haven't received payment on the stuff I sold on Ebay. It is taking quite a while. I'm new to this. I hope it works out. It is a good way in principle to add a couple of extra dollars to the savings. It is also good b/c I am decluttering the house at the same time.
Yesterday was payday and again it came and went with out saving a dime. Hopefully nexts week pay I will be able to save something of it.

It is always the small amounts that adds up. but regarding her textbook check out half.com; amazon and campsui prices for textbooks are at least 80% less. My book which was $120 at the college I got for $20 new on half.com...good luck

Thanks for the comments. Amber, the problem that I had with the books is that I didn't know until last minute what she needed. The school did not put out a list so I felt like I was stuck ordering them from the schools book store. I couldn't get the ISBN #'s to order them from half.com. By the way I am a big fan of half.com. Great Prices!!! Do you have any advice on how to get the list or the numbers earlier?

Unfortunately the colleges will not provide you any ISBN. What I normally do is go into the bookstore at the school and get price check (I do not intend on buying the book of course) they then provide you the name of the book, author and the edition...also you get to review the book. Then I go online type in the book's title. Or I wait until class and get the ISBN numbers from other students, most instructors will allow you a week to get the books because you have add/drop for a week. Good luck
